Pamukkale

Pamukkale is famous for its brilliant white travertine terraces, formed over thousands of years by mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down the hillside. The name means Cotton Castle, an apt description for a landscape that appears almost unreal in the sunlight. Above the terraces stands Hierapolis, an important Greco-Roman spa city with a vast theatre, ancient streets, temples and one of the best-preserved necropolises in Turkey.

A visit to Pamukkale combines natural beauty, archaeology and relaxation in a single destination. Travellers can walk barefoot along designated sections of the terraces, learn about the ancient city and, when conditions allow, swim among historic columns in the thermal Antique Pool. Nearby Laodicea and the surrounding countryside can also be included for visitors who want a deeper understanding of the region’s classical heritage.

Aravan Tours organizes professional Pamukkale tours with realistic timing, comfortable transportation and knowledgeable guidance. We plan visits to avoid unnecessary waiting and help guests experience both the travertines and Hierapolis at a comfortable pace. Private programs can begin from nearby Aegean destinations or form part of a longer itinerary connecting Pamukkale with Ephesus, Antalya, Cappadocia and Istanbul.
